Thanks to Angie from Parrots That Swim I have added this section on Aquatic plants to the blog. I think that I will be adding a few 'Real' plants to a few of my tanks in pots as Angie suggests. That way they can be moved before they get nibbled too much.

I believe that the brand 'Tropica' are pretty hardy. I tried these out myself, but my Uarus ate them . Fortunately, my Jags do not appear to have the same penchant for greens (they prefer biting my hand instead).

I would also be interested to know if anyone has any experience of the stock from Java Plants and, if so, can they be recommended. They appear to have some pretty good mixes available.

All information on any plants that can survive 'large' cichlids would be greatly appreciated (and tested).
