This book is a very useful tool in the hobby of fishkeeping and is to be recommended as a useful reference book for all fishkeepers.
It is split into 3 sections:- Fish Management, Aquarium Management & The Fish in Health and Illness.
The first section deals with Buying, Taxonomy, Behaviour, Transportation, Nutrition, Breeding etc and is set out an a most approachable manner. Here, as in the health section, the book uses a 'What if my fish......' type of indexing system, which I found particularly useful.
Section 2 is all about water, equipment, decoration, setting up etc. and again is well written and very useful to both beginner and to the old-timer.
The last section, perhaps the most important and useful section of the book, deals with anatomy, disease and treatment. I have used this section extensively to great effect, as it gives useful advice which can avoid problems, rather than just solve them one they have already occurred.
I gave this book a 9 out of 10 just in case something better comes along on the same subject, but I very much doubt it.
An excellent book to be recommended to anyone who is serious about the aquarist hobby.
