Here is my latest attempt at getting a decent shot of my Apteronotus albifrons (aka The Black Ghost Knife Fish) but, once again, I have been foiled by a combination of dirty glass, bad reflections and the sheer stealth of this animal.



This fish seems to be on the move all the time going from one place of cover to another. The amount of time that he is out in the open does not allow you to even point the camera, let alone click the shutter!!

Does anyone know of a sensible way to take a decent photo of these fish? Mine is only about 3" in length at present, so I guess that it will get easier as it gets bigger with less places to hide.

I will definitely post the first decent photo that I get, but I fear that this may well be a long time in the future!
