I know that it may not sound that earth shattering, but my tank number 3 now has 'proper' illumination.

The trouble was that previously, this 60" x 18" x 18" tank was sat on a workbench with a cupboard over the rear left quarter of it. This meant that I was unable to fit a hood of any kind and had to rely on clip-on lights (Arcadia's new idea), and table spot lamps hanging from fittings on the wall.

Today, we took down the cupboard, which was an interesting procedure in its own right, and fitted a new Arcadia luminaire. Now we can actually see the fish, and, rather than using it as a 'holding tank', it is now a display tank.

My current worry is that my small Tiger Oscar has obviously been fighting and appears to be a lot worse for wear. I have done a large(ish) water change and put in a dose of Myxazin, and he is starting to look a bit better. Hopefully, he will be even better tomorrow and a bit more interested in food.

Tomorrow we will be moving the inmates again, as the Carpintes look set to breed once more. The idea will be to put the 'paired' Carpintes into tank 9 with the other spawning pair, and to take all the remaining residents of tank 9 and put them in here. This means mixing South and Central American Cichlids even more, but, until the new tanks arrive, we are running out of space to put parents and fry.

As can be seen in the photo above, the Red Severum (hiding in the tree root) appears to have made a full recovery. It is a pity that the same cannot be said for the Gold Severum.

Just to add a bit of interest, I have taken a video of tanks 3,2 and 1 (in that order) which are located in my garage.
