I am rather pleased with the colouration now showing in these lively
little fish as they grow up. This photo has not been retouched to
enhance the colours, but is just 'as seen'.
Nigel, my fish swim in both directions, as you can see!!

nice to see the 'babies' growing up.they are slow to grow but worth it.i had to separate the parents as they would not stop breeding(horny, lucky devils) and since the divorce there has been an increase in growth.they are cracking fish.

Hi Neil,
It's good of you to join us. I have noticed you watching from the side lines for a few weeks now and was wondering who the mysterious 'Neil' might be! Unfortunately the bus load of Carpintes that you were after succumbed to a mystery illness and nearly all died off. There are however, about ten of the 'originals' left, about 50 of the second batch, and we have just had a third spawning, so you are welcome to come and pick some up if you like. Unfortunately I have lost your phone number, and I never had your e-mail address. Perhaps you might send it to me? I will be giving you full posting rights to this blog, so you can add your own photos if you like (please). It would be nice to see the parents of these guys. Cheers, Steve Re:Geophagus Brasiliensis - Brazilian Eartheater

Neil,
Here is a more recent photo of one of your babies. ![]() Unfortunately one of the 5 'disappeared' some time ago - assumed eaten, but the other 4 appear to be doing well. Steve Trackbacks
