I have today taken the plunge in tank 3 (not literally ), by adding a few heathy plants from the livebearer Vision 180 tank (tank 10) to the cichlid community tank (tank 3). These plants are Echinodorus bleheri and Bacopa monnieri (so it says on the labels).

Hopefully, they won't be eaten overnight!

The fish currently keeping these plants company are:-

Herichthys Carpinte
Geophagus Brasiliensis
Heros Severum (Gold Severum)
Pelvicachromis Pulcher
Cichlasoma Meeki
and a Plec of some description.

It is the Severum that I believe may be the problem here as I know that they like munching on greens. The one in this tank, however, is only a baby and should not be able to do too much damage too rapidly. Only time will tell.

I will revisit this in a month's time with a report back. Hopefully, all the plants will be alive, well and taking over the tank by that stage.
