The reason for my lack of postings during August was not because I had fallen out with anyone, or just got bored of writing postings, I was because of a series of events that ended up with me losing all of the following fish:-

My 4 Uarus,
the 2 Green Severums
4 small Gold Severums
my Silver Arowana

Needless to say, I have not been very happy with this, and I am currently still trying to minimse damage, as the Oscars are not currently enjoying the best of health, and I spend a lot of time changing water. Hopefully, the worst has already gone and things will improve from now on.

On a more positive note, I found two supposed 'dead' capintes alive and (nearly) well, having managed to get stuck in a plastic bridge ornament for 3 weeks. Fortunately, we managed to break the ornament apart and release the fish with minimal injury. One of them had a very nasty gash on its side, but this has healed well over the last week or so, and the fish is now well on the mend.

Today we 'disposed' of our baby Jaguars - half of them to a shop, and the other half to a zoo in Aberdeen. We will be sending some of the Carpintes and Convicts  next week to follow them.

This brings me to the main point of this article:- Hazelhead zoo.

It would appear that the zoo in Hazelhead park has been given a very small budget this year and are welcoming donations of fish to keep the aquarium going. I personally will be making several contributions and I am certain that other donations would be gratefully received.

So, if you are in the Aberdeen area and have fish that you are looking to dispose of, please let me know, or contact A1 Aquatics in Constitution Street in Aberdeen.

I look forward to hearing about any more contributions generated by this site. Neil - perhaps you could donate a few of your geos?
